Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hoyt Orr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Darren Moses (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hoyt Orr has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Hoyt Orr!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Darren Moses!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Russell Pearce and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Moses fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Orr avoids it really well and circles away.

Moses moves into range and clinches up with Orr.
Moses looking for a takedown.
Orr could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Moses breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Moses shoots in but Orr avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Hoyt Orr has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Darren Moses.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Moses is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Orr pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Moses tries to pull guard but Orr holds him up against the cage and eventually Moses drops back down to his feet.

Orr shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.

Moses's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Moses tries for a takedown but Orr manages to get underhooks.
Orr wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Moses has him pressed against the cage.

Orr wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Moses pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Moses gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Moses creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Orr's defenses.
Orr has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Moses is trying to drag Orr to the mat but Orr just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Orr is pressed up against the cage. Moses has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Orr down to the mat. Orr avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Moses is defended easily by Orr.
Orr closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

Moses tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Orr paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Moses doesn't manage to clinch there - Orr circles away.
Moses shoots in for a takedown but Orr shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Orr drops down looking for a counter takedown but Moses sprawls and moves away.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Moses closes the distance and pushes Orr back into the cage.
Moses putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Orr in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.
Moses has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Orr prevents a takedown attempt there.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Moses's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Moses goes for a double leg but Orr avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Orr continues to drive forward.

Moses keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Orr's efforts to push away.
Orr wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Orr lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Moses circles away quickly and effectively.
Moses shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Orr defends it nicely.

As Moses looks to move away, Orr throws a big counter combo bu Moses just gets out of the way.

Darren Moses showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Orr stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Orr wants it to stay on the feet.
Orr seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Orr shoots for a double leg takedown but Moses sprawls well. He's pushed Orr's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Moses doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
Moses lands with a kick to the temple. Orr shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

Moses throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Orr's waist but Orr gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Moses off to one side.

Orr shoots in for a double leg but Moses sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Orr will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Moses dives in and grabs Orr's left leg, looking for a takedown. Orr pushes down on Moses's head and hops out.

Orr scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Hoyt Orr.
I think Moses has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
