Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Stephen Barett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bastian Peugiez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Barett comes into the arena with Foggy Dew blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Stephen Barett!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Arvi Lind and Anni Minnemäki.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Peugiez shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Barett's guard.
Barett is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Peugiez presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
Barett has Peugiez pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Peugiez manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Peugiez tries to break the clinch but Barett is controlling the position.
Barett has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Peugiez after a bit of a struggle.
Peugiez wants to get back to striking at distance but Barett won't allow it.
Barett just leaning against Peugiez, taking a breather.
Barett keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Peugiez's efforts to push away.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Peugiez has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Peugiez has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Barett after a bit of a struggle.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Peugiez manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Barett on his heels. He'll look to pass Barett's guard now, I'm sure.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Barett tries to get to full guard but Peugiez has control of the leg.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

A punch lands to the side of Barett 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Barett keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Barett punishes Peugiez's body with a nice straight punch.
Barett tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Peugiez swivels and escapes.
Horrible takedown attempt by Peugiez or perhaps it was just good defense by Barett, which made it look bad.
Peugiez throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Barett's waist but Barett gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Peugiez off to one side.
Peugiez slaps away a takedown attempt from Barett, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Barett tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Peugiez manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Peugiez tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Barett swivels and escapes.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Peugiez will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Barett looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Peugiez is fending him off so far but Barett persists. Nope, Peugiez circles away and we're back to standing.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Barett needs to keep his hands up - Peugiez had a free shot at his head there.
Peugiez misses with a series of wild punches.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Peugiez.
Barett swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Peugiez counters with a left and a right that stings Barett.
Peugiez fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Stephen Barett is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Barett darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Peugiez has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Barett is on him like a limpet, forcing Peugiez back against the cage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Barett shoots in looking for a takedown. Peugiez tries to sprawl out of it but Barett keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Peugiez manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Barett changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Peugiez tries to avoid it but Barett manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Peugiez to the ground. Peugiez escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Barett tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Peugiez manages to circle out of the way.

Barett is trying to pull guard but Peugiez turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Barett is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Peugiez can't fight it off and eventually Barett manages to take the fight to the floor. Peugiez looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Peugiez has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Barett has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

A close second round but Bastian Peugiez will probably get the nod - 10:9.
