Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Carl Diol (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John McManus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Carl Diol! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John McManus! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, George Francis and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McManus tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Diol swivels and escapes. McManus tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Diol paws at him with a jab and circles away. McManus fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Diol manages to avoid it. Diol bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Diol passes to full mount! That's big trouble for McManus! Diol cracks McManus with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Diol lands a big shot there that rocks McManus but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

You get the feeling that McManus really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Diol really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Diol sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. McManus is looking to improve his position but Diol isn't that keen on the idea. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Diol tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Diol is working for a guillotine from mount but McManus frees his head quite easily.
Diol takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Diol working for a submission but McManus is keeping him at bay. McManus is trying to escape the mount.
Diol jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but McManus manages to avoid the submission attempt. Diol is breathing heavily. McManus tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Diol wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. McManus can't do much from the bottom here. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. McManus takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Diol scores with a couple of short elbows. Diol misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Diol with a lazy takedown attempt and McManus counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Diol tries to get to full guard but McManus has control of the leg. McManus takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. McManus passes to side control. McManus tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily. McManus is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Diol tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but McManus wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. McManus is working Diol over with some ground and pound from side control. McManus tries to advance to mount but can't. Diol is trying to control McManus's posture but McManus avoids it. Diol is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because McManus is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Diol gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Diol is looking to improve his position but McManus isn't that keen on the idea. McManus jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Diol manages to avoid the submission attempt.
That's four minutes gone in the round. McManus trying to control the position but Diol is working away. Diol sneaks back into half guard. McManus is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Diol has managed to free his arm - good work. McManus looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Diol tries to roll over but McManus keeps him under control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Carl Diol will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Diol tries for a takedown but McManus circles away easily so McManus counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. McManus keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Diol's head. McManus trying to control but Diol is working from the bottom. McManus slips nicely into half guard. Diol looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Diol has hold of McManus's hands but McManus slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. McManus has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Diol defend it? McManus steps over the head and cranks it - Diol is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for McManus!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:04 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). John McManus!
