The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
usa changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. johnson looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
usa trying to control the action but johnson is working from the bottom.
usa working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
johnson tries to get back to half guard but can't.
usa is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but johnson is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
johnson tries to bench press usa off him but usa keeps the position.
usa thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
usa decides to stand back up. usa steps back and let's johnson get back to his feet.
usa looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? johnson is fending him off so far but usa persists. Nope, johnson circles away and we're back to standing.
usa drives through with a takedown into guard.
