Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Kojo Quaye (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jamie Cureton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Quaye comes to the cage accompanied by Run DMC - Ooh, Whatcha Gonna Do. Jamie Cureton has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Kojo Quaye's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kojo Quaye!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Jamie Cureton!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Phil Schofield and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Quaye throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Cureton has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Quaye.
Cureton shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Quaye but Quaye pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Quaye throws a head kick that misses.
Quaye scores with a kick to the body.
Jamie Cureton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Quaye chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Quaye bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.

Cureton closes the distance and clinches.
Cureton tries for a takedown. No joy.
Cureton is working for takedown but Quaye is calmly controlling the position for now.
Kojo Quaye has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jamie Cureton.

Quaye breaks the clinch.
Quaye fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Cureton has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Cureton takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Cureton fails with the takedown
and Quaye finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.
Quaye lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.

Quaye fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Quaye keeps Cureton at a distance using the push kick.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Quaye.
Cureton tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

Quaye throws a front kick that sends Cureton stumbling back into the cage.
Quaye goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Quaye throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Quaye lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
A chopping leg kick lands by Quaye.
Cureton takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Quaye delivers a nice body kick.
Quaye throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Quaye connects with a high kick.
Cureton takes a kick to the side of the head.
Kojo Quaye is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Quaye moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.

Quaye's Muay Thai looks sharper than normal. He has obviously been working on it in the gym.
Good leg kick by Quaye there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Cureton steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Quaye. That one must have hurt.
Quaye throws a head kick that half lands.
A head kick from Quaye lands but Cureton takes it in his stride.
Cureton on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Quaye scoring well with a low kick there.
Cureton has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Quaye.
Quaye lands with a kick to the temple. Cureton shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Quaye lands a high kick!


Cureton is rocked!
Cureton shoots in looking for a takedown but Quaye manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Cureton's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Cureton is still on wobbly legs! Can Quaye finish him?
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Quaye! Cureton is out on his feet! Quaye rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Cureton is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Cureton is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kojo Quaye!
