The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rogers gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Rogers is trying to break the clinch but Ryan has him pressed against the cage. Rogers rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Ryan moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Ryan looks like he wants to counter punch here. Rogers throws a series of punches but Ryan avoids them all with ease. Ryan avoids a punch combination nicely.

and Ryan counters with a lovely straight right hand! We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rogers dives in for a single leg takedown but Ryan sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Rogers misses with an uppercut. Ryan saw that one coming. That's one minute gone in the round. Rogers tries to clinch up but Ryan circles away and keeps his distance. Rogers shoots in looking for a takedown. Ryan tries to sprawl out of it but Rogers keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Ryan manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Steve Rogers. That's going to take a lot out of him. Rogers throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Ryan. Steve Rogers seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Ryan throws a low kick but it's checked well by Rogers. Rogers throws a jab but it's blocked by Ryan. Rogers misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Rogers misses with a hook. Ryan throws a hook but Rogers blocks it. Rogers looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Ryan looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. That's three minutes gone in the round. Ryan gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Rogers to score an easy takedown into full guard. Ryan is looking to stand back up but Rogers counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Ryan.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ryan is defending against the submission attempts here by Rogers.

A close round but Jake Ryan will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Rogers displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Ryan throws out the jab. Rogers lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Ryan misses with a straight right. Rogers fails with a takedown attempt. Rogers scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Ryan might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Rogers slips a straight right by Ryan. Rogers is rocked! Rogers takes a shot right to the bread basket. Oh Rogers is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! This has been an exciting period of action! Ryan weaves into range and cracks Rogers right on the temple with a beautiful overhand right! Rogers goes down! He's out cold! Wow, what a beautiful knockout! Ryan is strutting round the canvas like a movie star as the camera bulbs flash frantically.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Jake Ryan! Jake Ryan got down on his knees post fight and begged the management for a title shot. 'Please, I want that title shot so bad! Give it to me!'
