Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
12 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Haywood Badger! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Josh Middleton! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Robert Twigg and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Badger throws a sloppy body shot
and Middleton connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Badger connects with a body shot. A nice leg kick lands there from Badger. A punch lands to the side of Badger 's head but he takes it in his stride. Middleton slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Badger dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Middleton. That did some damage! Middleton throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Good work by Middleton as he checks the leg kick. Middleton throws a nice outside leg kick. We've been informed that Middleton has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Badger connects with a crisp jab. Badger swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Middleton takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Badger throws a low kick but Middleton moves out of range easily. Middleton swings widly with a right hand

That's one minute gone in the round. Middleton is pushing Badger up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. A head punch on the inside from Badger fails to land. Middleton pressing his opponent against the cage. Middleton blocks an uppercut.
Badger drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Middleton gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Middleton tries to throw a body punch but Badger avoids it by throwing Middleton back against the cage. A head punch blocked on the inside by Badger. Middleton lands with a short shot to the head. Middleton lands a knee to the body.
Badger breaks the clinch.
Middleton is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Badger.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Badger moves away from the strike by Middleton. Badger looks to score with a jab to the body but Middleton is just out of range. Middleton looks like he wants to counter punch here. A swing and a miss from Badger. Middleton misses with a hook. Middleton tries to clinch up but Badger circles away and keeps his distance. Good exchange - Middleton coming out on top. Badger takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Badger lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Josh Middleton is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. A bone on bone clash there as Badger blocks the leg kick.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Badger lands a lovely overhand right. Middleton just misses with a punch to the body.
As Middleton backs away, Badger returns fire with a leg kick that just misses. Badger lands with a nice body kick. Badger misses with a lunging right hand
and Middleton counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Badger takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Badger misses with a kick to the body and Middleton counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Badger misses with an uppercut. Middleton saw that one coming. Middleton misses with a double jab
and Badger counters with a nice double leg into guard. Middleton wants to sweep here but Badger controlling him for the moment. Middleton looking to control but Badger passes into half guard.
Badger looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Middleton with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Middleton is looking for a sweep. Badger is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Badger has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Badger scoring with strikes to the body and head. Badger is looking for a kimura here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Middleton moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Badger might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Badger trying to control the position from guard on top but Middleton is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Badger lands a couple of elbows. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Haywood Badger will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action!
Badger uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Middleton. Badger checks a leg kick nicely. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Middleton checks a leg kick. Middleton throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Badger counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Middleton! Middleton is looking to reverse the position. Badger is working Middleton over with some ground and pound from side control. Badger in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Middleton is tapping! That's the end of the fight!
