Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
13 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Craig Anderson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jose Aldo! The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Reed Andrews and Anthony Taglia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Aldo lands with a hook. Anderson tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Crunch! Aldo slams his shin into Anderson's torso. Anderson chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Aldo can pounce on him.
Aldo misses with a two punch combination.
As Aldo tries to get set, Anderson tries to push him back and clinch up but Aldo manages to avoid the attempt. Aldo scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Anderson doesn't seem bothered though. Anderson takes a kick to the body and keeps moving. Aldo throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena. Anderson swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Aldo tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Anderson takes a shot right to the bread basket. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Aldo lands a nice hook to Anderson's body. Anderson takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Aldo's coach down at Morbid Conditioning, Trans, Esc School $1000 was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Aldo's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Aldo works Anderson's body with a nice hook. Aldo moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Aldo throws a right hand that Anderson ducks under and follows up with a left that Anderson also avoids with ease.

Aldo throws a series of punches but Anderson moves out of range. Anderson tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Aldo manages to circle out of the way. Aldo ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Aldo scores with a jab. Anderson acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Aldo throws a one two combo.
Aldo tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Anderson was well out of range. Poor timing from Aldo. Anderson misses with a straight left. Aldo misses with the combination.
Anderson moves into range and clinches up with Aldo.
That's two minutes gone in the round. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Aldo is trying to force a seperation but Anderson has the dominant position. Aldo pushes Anderson back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Anderson lands a hook to the side of the head. Anderson misses with the head strike.
Aldo lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage. Anderson lands with a short shot to the head. Anderson works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Aldo breaks from the clinch.
Aldo lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Aldo throws a quick inside leg kick. A nice leg kick lands there from Aldo. Aldo lands with a nice body punch. Aldo throws a shot to the body.

Anderson takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Anderson is breathing heavily. Anderson gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Aldo's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Aldo fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Anderson has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Aldo connects with a looping right hand.
Aldo lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Aldo. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Aldo stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Aldo changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Aldo connects with a solid leg kick.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A solid leg kick lands there for Aldo.
Aldo digs a good hook to Anderson's body.
Aldo fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Anderson has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Anderson takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Aldo is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Anderson rather than just go for the knockout. Anderson rushes Aldo and presses him up against the cage. Aldo blocks a punch to the side of the head.
A head punch on the inside from Anderson fails to land. Aldo's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Aldo moves into range and connects with a jab. Aldo scores with a shot to the body.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Anderson takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Anderson moves forwards but Aldo connects with a nice, crisp jab. Aldo bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Anderson's head.
Anderson is rocked! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jose Aldo dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Aldo fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Anderson moves to clinch but Aldo breaks away and Aldo counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Oh Anderson is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Aldo throws a quick inside leg kick. Anderson seems to have got his legs back now. Aldo thumps Anderson with a low kick. Aldo lands a slapping body shot.
Anderson tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Aldo stalks Anderson and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Anderson's face. Anderson staggers backwards, shaken. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Aldo lands a big head kick that sends Anderson tumbling to the mat! Aldo takes a step backwards and waves Anderson back to his feet - he wants the finish! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Anderson swings and misses with a hook to the body.

That's one minute gone in the round. Aldo throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Aldo moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Anderson has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Aldo. Jose Aldo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Aldo throws a leg kick which misses Anderson's front leg but catches the back leg as Anderson tries to avoid it. Aldo scores with a jab to the body. Aldo has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Aldo lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Anderson darts in and clinches Aldo up against the cage. Aldo breaks from the clinch.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Nice body punch from Aldo. Anderson takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

Aldo throws a leg kick which misses Anderson's front leg but catches the back leg as Anderson tries to avoid it. Anderson misses with a looping left. Aldo throws a good cross that connects.

Aldo scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Anderson has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Aldo finds it's way round the side to connect with Anderson's head. Anderson loads up on a big right hand but Aldo slips the punch. Aldo appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body. Aldo wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Aldo lands a jab to Anderson's midsection. Oooooh!!! Aldo has knocked Anderson down with a huge combo! Aldo steps away and waves a wobbly Anderson back to his feet! This one might not go much longer! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Anderson takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Aldo feints a jab and as Anderson dips his head, Aldo unleashes a brutal head kick that catches Anderson right on the jaw! Timbeeer! Anderson falls backwards in slow motion, only propped up by the cage! Aldo smiles a psychotic smile as he stares down his unconscious opponent. That is a scary man.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Jose Aldo!
