Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Henrique Tavares (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Maximiliano Meridius (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tavares comes into the arena with Devour the Day - Get Out of My Way blaring out of the sound system. Meridius has chosen Turn Down for What as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Alexandre Firmino and Emerson Jorge.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Meridius takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Meridius swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Tavares showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Meridius.
Tavares scores with a hook to the body. Meridius takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Tavares tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Meridius is looking for the big counter here.
Tavares throws a series of strikes that have Meridius backpedaling.
Meridius ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Tavares misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Meridius looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Tavares looks to score with a jab to the body but Meridius is just out of range.
Tavares fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Meridius manages to avoid it.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Meridius throws a shot to the body.

Tavares throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Meridius swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Tavares slips a straight right by Meridius.
Tavares cracks a nice hook into Meridius's ribs.
Meridius's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Tavares connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Meridius scrambles back to his feet.
Meridius shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Tavares with a nice cross.
Tavares moves in looking to clinch but Meridius pushes him off.
Tavares lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Meridius at a distance.
Tavares throws a perfectly timed hook that sends Meridius crashing down! Meridius tries to stagger back to his feet but Tavares just hammers him until the ref stops the fight! A confused Meridius asks the ref what just happened. Poor fella.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Henrique Tavares!
Henrique Tavares bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
