The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jinn connects with a good right hand that stumbles Rua . Rua circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

It looks like Cubert Rua has been cut.

Qui Gon Jinn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Rua uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Jinn.
It looked like Rua was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Jinn.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Jinn throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Jinn throws a hook to the side of Rua 's head but Rua sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
We've been told by Rua 's head coaches at Den of Tears (22 coaches, $900 fee) that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Rua stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Rua sizes up Jinn with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Rua is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.

The fighters circle momentarily. Rua darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Jinn misses with a hook. Rua ducked under it nicely.

Jinn swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Jinn misses with an uppercut. Rua saw that one coming.
Rua throws a big counter combination but Jinn scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.

Rua is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

and Rua counters with a left and a right that stings Jinn.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Jinn throws a shot from downtown. Rua moves away and avoids it.
Rua ducks under a wild hook from Jinn.
Jinn gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Rua .
Rua keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Jinn.
Jinn loads up on a big right hand but Rua slips the punch.

Rua feints a jab promting Jinn to slip. Rua then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Jinn slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Jinn is rocked!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Cubert Rua will probably get the nod.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Jinn swings and misses with a hook to the body.
A quick step to the side and Rua tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Jinn scores with the left hand. Rua knows he should have avoided that one.
Rua cracks Jinn with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Jinn is still on wobbly legs! Can Rua finish him?
Rua cracks Jinn with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Jinn falls to his knees and Rua doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!
