Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Peter Pan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Artem Obukhov!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pan misses with an uppercut

and Obukhov counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Obukhov is taking a breather. Pan says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Obukhov got a little sloppy there for a moment and Pan has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Obukhov has managed to get both his arms back between Pan's legs - danger averted.
Pan has momentary wrist control but Obukhov slips an elbow through the middle.

Obukhov is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Pan defends it well.

Pan goes for a double leg but Obukhov avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Obukhov continues to drive forward.

Pan escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Obukhov gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Obukhov cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!


Pan is rocked!
Pan is trying to escape the mount.
Oh Pan is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Pan seems to have got his legs back now.
Obukhov lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Obukhov is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Pan has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Pan!

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Obukhov is on top in guard.

Obukhov is working Pan over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Pan escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Obukhov gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Obukhov really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Pan. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Obukhov takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Pan is pressing down on Obukhov's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Obukhov seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Pan has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Obukhov is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Pan.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Artem Obukhov showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Obukhov throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Pan sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Pan moves in looking to clinch but Obukhov pushes him off.
Pan tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Obukhov manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Obukhov is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Pan with a body shot.
A big right from Obukhov misses.
Pan throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Peter Pan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Pan doesn't manage to clinch there - Obukhov circles away.

and Obukhov counters with a single leg into guard. Pan didn't expect that.

Obukhov is sitting in close to Pan's body. Pan has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Obukhov is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Obukhov is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Pan.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:43 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Peter Pan!
Peter Pan opened up his post fight interview with a scream to camera that he wants a title shot! Whether he deserves the shot will be up to the management of the organization, so I guess he'll have to wait and see.
