Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Salvatore Richard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Avery (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Max Avery has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Salvatore Richard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Max Avery!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Robert Douchet and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Avery tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Richard was well out of range. Poor timing from Avery.
Avery thows a leg kick but Richard checks it
and Richard moves into the clinch.
Avery breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Avery looks to score with a jab to the body but Richard is just out of range.
Avery throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Richard blocks a head kick by Avery.
A momentary lapse in concentration from Richard enables Avery to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Richard manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Avery prevents Richard from getting back to his feet.
Avery postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Richard keeping moving, preventing Avery from controlling successfully.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Richard is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Richard can't keep his opponent in guard - Avery advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Richard wants to control the action here but instead Avery manages to pass to full mount!

Richard wants to control but Avery is keeping busy.

Richard is wriggling around trying to escape.

Richard manages to work a leg through to get back to half guard here. Good work there by Richard, under a barage of strikes from Avery.
Avery really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Richard. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Richard works his way to full guard. Good work.
Avery pushing down on Richard's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Avery has decided to stand back up but his arm is trapped. Whilst he's worrying about his arm, Richard works to full guard.
Richard escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Avery gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Richard controls Avery momentarily but Avery frees himself.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Richard manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Avery manages to get himself to full guard.
Richard postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Avery looking for a triangle here. Richard is fighting it but it looks tight! Avery pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Richard is tapping out - this one is all over!
