The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Richard Clark and James Ackerman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wates throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. McLean tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Wates is in McLean's guard.
Wates trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Wates is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Wates throws a big right hand that misses.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
McLean looking for a sweep. Not yet McLean, not yet.
Wates decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on McLean, up you get!

Wates definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Shawn McLean seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
McLean sends Wates crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! McLean is motioning to the referee to let Wates up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Wates is rocked!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
McLean lands a brutal uppercut that launches Wates off his feet! Wates tumbles to the floor, barely conscious - the referee jumps in to save him from a beating! Wow, what an ending!
