0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Luis Suarez! The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Jorge Garcia and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Suarez moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
It looks like Ernest Dorsey has been cut. Dorsey fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Suarez manages to avoid it. A punch combination from Suarez misses. Suarez throws a nice looking combination but Dorsey bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Suarez is looking to clinch but Dorsey is avoiding it.
Suarez throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Dorsey holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Dorsey tries to pull guard but Suarez forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Dorsey's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Dorsey is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Suarez to keep the fight standing. Suarez tries to circle away but Dorsey has him pinned against the cage. Dorsey tries to pull guard but Suarez forces him back to his feet, against the cage. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ernest Dorsey. That's going to take a lot out of him. Suarez has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Suarez manages to break the clinch.
Dorsey throws a body punch but Suarez moves out of range. Suarez misses with the combination.
Dorsey tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Suarez manages to circle out of the way. Suarez throws a right and a left that Dorsey avoids nicely. Dorsey appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Dorsey really is a fat lump.
That's one minute gone in the round. Suarez throws a right and a left that Dorsey avoids nicely. Suarez throws a right hand that Dorsey ducks under and follows up with a left that Dorsey also avoids with ease. Dorsey fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Dorsey lands a nice leg kick that just misses Suarez's sensitive parts. Suarez is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Suarez fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Dorsey, pushing him back against the cage. Suarez has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Dorsey jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Suarez walks away with a smile on his face. Dorsey gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Suarez uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Dorsey.
Suarez lands a left and a right that send Dorsey crashing to the mat, dazed. Suarez thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Dorsey is rocked! Luis Suarez is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Suarez lands with a right and another and another! Dorsey is in big trouble! Suarez lands again and this time it's lights out for Dorsey! A quality knockout there for Suarez.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Luis Suarez! Luis Suarez bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
