The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mironov is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
It looks like Sergei Mironov has been cut. Mironov avoids the body shot from Karwoski.
A decent looking cross lands there for Karwoski. Karwoski lands the left hand. Mironov chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Karwoski can pounce on him.
A swing and a miss from Karwoski. Kirk Karwoski seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Mironov fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Karwoski throws a right and a left that both miss. Mironov tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Karwoski tests Mironov's chin there with a solid looking shot. A chopping leg kick lands by Karwoski. Mironov slips a jab and a cross from Karwoski.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! A lazy left from Karwoski finds it's target. Mironov keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Karwoski takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mironov tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Karwoski was well out of range. Poor timing from Mironov. A thudding body kick lands there by Karwoski!

Mironov looks winded! Mironov moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Karwoski looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Karwoski ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Mironov moves away. Mironov changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Karwoski is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. Good leg kick by Karwoski there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Karwoski throws a head kick that misses. Karwoski moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Karwoski fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Mironov on the side of the head. Mironov tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Karwoski was well out of range. Poor timing from Mironov. Karwoski connects with a good right hand that stumbles Mironov. Mironov circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Karwoski avoids a kick to the body.
Karwoski has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Rape Academy (7 elite, 6 2x elite) in the buildup to the fight. Karwoski is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Mironov walks into a jab. Mironov pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Karwoski gets a clinch. A shot in the inside from Karwoski. Karwoski lands a nice elbow. Mironov has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Karwoski avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Karwoski misses with an elbow over the top. Karwoski blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

A nice glancing elbow lands by Karwoski. Karwoski lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
The cut above Sergei Mironov's eye is starting to cause him problems now. Karwoski creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Mironov's defenses.
Mironov is rocked! Mironov is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Mironov is still on wobbly legs! Can Karwoski finish him? Mironov looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Karwoski dips a shoulder and cracks Mironov with a mighty uppercut! Mironov falls back against the cage and Karwoski unloads with a barrage of strikes! Mironov is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Karwoski screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:09 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kirk Karwoski! During a confident post fight interview, Kirk Karwoski thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
