Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Winford Tate!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jack Tur!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Colin Fray and Paul Gruel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tur feints and as Tate raises his hands in defense, Tur changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Tur working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Tur stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Tate swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Tur slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Tur is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Tate knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Tur lands a nice forearm strike.
Tate really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Tur is working to tighten his grip on Tate's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Tate has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Tur is really squeezing tight and eventually Tate passes out! Tur breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
