Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Willie Salazar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sitish Negi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Negi has chosen Blue eyes as his entrance music. Sitish Negi is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sitish Negi! The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, David Schapiro and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Negi shoots for a double leg takedown but Salazar sprawls well. He's pushed Negi's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Salazar digs a good body shot into Negi's ribs. Salazar misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Salazar looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Salazar decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet. Salazar gets in close and instigates a clinch. Salazar jumps guard and drags Negi to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Salazar looking for a guillotine here but Negi defends easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Negi gets to his feet. Salazar looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Salazar drives through with a takedown into Negi's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Negi has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Salazar has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage. That's three minutes gone in the round. Salazar with a body punch. A glancing blow. Salazar clinches. Negi with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Negi pushes Salazar back against the cage and unloads with a body punch. Salazar wants the takedown. Negi is fighting it off but Salazar persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Negi's guard against the cage. Salazar stops Negi from standing up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Salazar tries to free his leg and advance position but Negi is retaining full guard. Salazar won't allow Negi to get back to his feet. Negi keeping full guard, as Salazar tries to pass. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Negi can do anything to dispel that myth. Salazar trying to control but Negi is working from the bottom. Negi wants to sweep here but Salazar controlling him for the moment. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Negi wants to stand and escape but Salazar is having none of it.

That was a close round but I would say that Willie Salazar will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action!
Salazar scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Negi regains half guard there - taking advantage of Salazar's attempt to lay and pray for a moment. Salazar throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Negi to regain full guard. Salazar has gone for a leg lock! Negi slips out almost immediately though and dives into Salazar's guard. Negi chips away with some ground and pound. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Negi works over Salazar with some ground and pound from guard. Negi postures up in Salazar's guard and throws a big left but Salazar blocks it. Negi decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Salazar, up you get!
That's one minute gone in the round. Salazar takes the fight into the clinch. Negi is looking for a takedown. Negi turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Negi manages to end up in side control. Salazar tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Negi wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Salazar is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Negi off and has taken his back! Negi is trying escape back to his feet. He turns into his opponent's guard and eventually finds his way back to his feet. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Salazar scores with a takedown into Negi's guard. Salazar preventing the sweep. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Salazar is pushing down on Negi's leg trying to pass to half guard. Negi is fighting to maintain full guard but Salazar has managed to sneak the leg through. Salazar not doing much here.
Negi is refusing to be controlled, as Salazar sits in half guard. Negi makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Salazar gets a takedown into half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Salazar is nestled in close to Negi, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Sitish Negi has got the better of the ground game so far. Negi has one foot on Salazar's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. Salazar fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Negi looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Negi gets caught napping as Salazar dives in and scores a takedown. Negi manages to retain guard. Salazar is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Salazar trying to control the position from guard on top but Negi is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Negi escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Salazar gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Salazar landing with the ground and pound. Negi is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Salazar defends well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Sitish Negi will probably get the nod - 10:9. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

It looked like Salazar was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Salazar displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Negi. Salazar is looking to score with low kicks.
That's one minute gone in the round. Salazar drives through with a takedown into guard. Negi is working an open guard so Salazar takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Negi gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Salazar feints and as Negi raises his hands in defense, Salazar changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Negi wriggles free and stands up. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Salazar lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Negi circles away quickly and effectively. Salazar clinches up against the cage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Negi is looking to take this one to the mat. Willie Salazar has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sitish Negi. Salazar has hold of one of Negi's legs. Negi is fighting the takedown attempt but Salazar gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Salazar loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Negi preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Salazar wants to control from the top but Negi keeps moving. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Salazar's corner. There ya go! There ya go! The fighters are working up against the cage. Negi manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage. Salazar decides to pull guard. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Salazar is on top in guard.

Negi gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Salazar closes the distance and clinches. Negi jumps guard but Salazar stands there with Negi around his waist. Negi gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Negi is fighting to break Salazar's control of his arms but Salazar is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Negi wants to stand but Salazar has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Salazar is working an open guard so Negi takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Salazar gets a double leg takedown into Negi's guard. Negi is looking to sweep but instead, Salazar has passed into half guard.
Salazar is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Negi is defending against the submission attempts here by Salazar.
