The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Piras thuds his right hand into Westerberg's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
It looks like Gregers Westerberg has been cut. Excellent takedown into side control there by Westerberg. Westerberg tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Westerberg cracks Piras with a big elbow. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Westerberg tries to advance to mount but Piras denies him. The strikes coming from Westerberg are missing the target in this wave of attacks. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Westerberg goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Piras rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Westerberg's guard! Nice work there by Piras! Westerberg working for a triangle but Piras defends it easily.

I've been told that Piras has been drilling his wrestling of late, which has already helped him take this fight to the mat. Let's see how much of an impact it has on the outcome of the ground game. Westerberg controlling Piras's posture. Piras looking to pass the guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Westerberg wants to sweep but no luck. The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Gregers Westerberg seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Piras misses the shot to the body. Piras lands with a straight right. Westerberg didn't see that one coming. Piras lands with a nice body punch. Westerberg fails with the takedown enabling Piras to counter with a crisp jab. Piras connects with a crisp jab. Piras cracks a nice hook into Westerberg's ribs. Westerberg defending well as Piras loads up on a big left hand. It looked like Westerberg was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Piras jabbing away but nothing is landing. An attempted straight right counter from Westerberg misses the target. Piras lands a right hook to the body.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Westerberg takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Piras digs a good body shot into Westerberg's ribs. Piras lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

Piras looks to score with a jab to the body but Westerberg is just out of range. Piras throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Westerberg. Piras lands with a nice body punch. Piras ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Piras lands a lovely overhand right. Piras ducks down and throws a hook to the body. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Roberto Piras dominated that round. The cut man is working on Gregers Westerberg's cut. That's time! Back to the action!
Piras fails with the takedown. Piras ducks under a wild hook from Westerberg. Piras feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Westerberg sprawling to the canvas! Westerberg rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Piras finish him?!
Westerberg is rocked! Westerberg looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Westerberg misses with a combination
and Piras counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Oh Westerberg is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Piras. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man. Westerberg looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Piras digs a good body shot into Westerberg's ribs. Westerberg takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Westerberg seems to have got his legs back now. Roberto Piras seems to be getting the better of the standup. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Piras swings for the body but Westerberg moves out of range.
Westerberg shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Piras counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Westerberg thinking. Piras jabs Westerberg to the body, keeping him at a distance. Piras misses the shot to the body. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Piras lands with a shot to the body. Piras lands a slapping body shot.

That's one minute gone in the round. Piras lands a big uppercut and Westerberg crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Westerberg looks OK. Piras waves Westerberg back to his feet!
Gregers Westerberg's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it. Piras is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Westerberg rather than just go for the knockout. Piras ducks down and throws a big overhand right - it lands flush on the jaw, knocking Westerberg out cold! The fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:13 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Roberto Piras! After winning the bout, Roberto Piras thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
