Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Dmitry Maklakov and Valeri Chadov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Balov looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Fernandez tries to roll over but Balov keeps him under control.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Balov connects with a nice short shot to Fernandez's temple.
Fernandez wants to improve his position but Balov is controlling well.

Fernandez is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Balov scores with a couple of nice shots.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Balov wants to stand up but Fernandez has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Balov is taking a breather. Fernandez says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Balov postures up and lands a big shot to Fernandez's brow.
Balov drops back, looking for a kneebar! Fernandez looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Fernandez looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Fernandez!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fernandez seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Fernandez looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

and Fernandez counters with a series of strikes. Balov will be more careful next time no doubt.
Balov drives through with a takedown into Fernandez's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Balov must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Balov shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Fernandez manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Balov is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Balov bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Islam Balov showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
Balov tries to close the distance and clinch but Fernandez swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Balov throws a series of punches but Fernandez avoids them all with ease.

Balov shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Fernandez's guard.
Fernandez is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Balov takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Balov wanted to stand there but Fernandez had control of the position.

Fernandez working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Balov doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Balov manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Balov winds up and cracks Fernandez with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Balov scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Balov is controlling the pace.
Fernandez is looking for a sweep. Balov is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Balov is working for a submission of some sort.
Balov throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

I would just about give that final round to Islam Balov.
I've got Balov winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
