Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rex Steele! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bob Savs! The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Eddie Farnsworth and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Savs misses with a low kick.
Steele scores a takedown into full mount! Savs throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing. Savs squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Savs tries to get back to half guard but can't. Steele controlling from mount. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Savs really wants to buck Steele off and get back to his feet. Steele controlling from mount. Steele has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. Savs really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Savs looks gassed! Steele tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Savs can do anything to dispel that myth.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Rex Steele just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Steele avoids a punch combination nicely.
Steele has Savs up against the cage in a clinch.
Savs tries to score a body lock takedown but Steele shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Savs wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Steele has him pressed against the cage. Both guys are working to get underhooks. Steele breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Steele closes the distance and clinches. Steele has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Savs uses from the top position. Steele trying to control the position here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Steele pushes Savs off and scrambles back to his feet.
Steele takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Steele shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Savs as he avoids it easily. Bob Savs seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Steele. Savs shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Steele counters with a shoot takedown. Savs fights it but they end up in guard. Steele wants to pass the guard but Savs is keeping the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Savs wants to get back to his feet but Steele is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Steele slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Steele pushing down on Savs's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Steele controlling the action here. Steele stands up and beckons Savs to join him on the feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Steele decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Steele stands up and beckons Savs to join him on the feet. Steele shoots in and bounces Savs off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Steele decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Savs, up you get! Steele clinches. Steele gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Savs.
Savs is breathing heavily. The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Steele breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Steele shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Savs's guard. Steele controlling from the top position. Savs is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Steele is controlling him. Steele is stalling in the full guard. Savs is looking to sweep but instead, Steele has passed into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Steele not doing much here.
Savs kicks off Steele and gets to his feet. The fighters circle momentarily. Steele darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Steele shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Savs pinned against the cage. Savs gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Steele drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Steele passes into half guard. Steele works his way into full mount! Savs trying desperately to get to his feet.
Steele takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Steele's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Rex Steele dominated that second round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
Steele shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Steele content just to control the position here. Savs takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's one minute gone in the round. Steele prevents Savs from getting the reversal. Steele controlling from mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Rex Steele just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Excellent takedown into side control there by Steele. Steele is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Savs's shoulder. That is not cool. Steele has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Rex Steele is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Steele clinches up against the cage. Steele just leaning against Savs, taking a breather. Steele lands a takedown into guard.
Steele stands and steps away. Savs gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Steele darts in and clinches Savs up against the cage. Steele jumps guard.
Savs would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Steele manages to escape and get back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Excellent takedown into side control there by Steele. Steele controlling the position. Rex Steele is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. You can see the frustration on Savs's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
And that's the end of the fight! Rex Steele showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Steele, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
