Murphy kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Hot Rod. The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Paulo Santos and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Murphy works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Romero Palacio scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Murphy is not content to let Romero Palacio control the position.
Romero Palacio misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Murphy takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Romero Palacio stands up and beckons Murphy to his feet.
Romero Palacio shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Murphy cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Murphy throws a one two combo.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Murphy looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Murphy slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
A right-left combo lands from Murphy.
Romero Palacio is rocked!
Romero Palacio fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Romero Palacio shoots in but Murphy avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Brandon Murphy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Yoel Romero Palacio.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Romero Palacio throws a wild hook but Murphy just manages to duck under it and - ooooh! Romero Palacio gets nailed by a brutal uppercut which crumples him back against the cage! The referee jumps in - Murphy raises his hands in celebration and walks away!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:09 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Brandon Murphy!
Brandon Murphy really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Machine Fight Gear logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
