Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Renan Melo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Alvarez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Melo's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Fireball - Pitbull. Alvarez has chosen Doom as his entrance music. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
13 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Renan Melo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Michael Alvarez! The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Sergei Dronov and Vladimir Khabensky.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Alvarez misses with a head kick.
Melo blocks a low kick nicely. Alvarez throws an overhand right that lands on Melo's shoulder, as Melo tries to avoid the shot. Melo throws out a powerful jab. Melo scores with a hook. Alvarez keeps the fight on the outside. Melo seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym. Alvarez scoring well with a low kick there.
Melo scores with a shot to the body.
Alvarez looks to land a left hand but Melo moved out of range nicely. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Melo tries to clinch there but Alvarez circles away.
Melo tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Alvarez counters with a flying knee. Nice. Melo throws a poor cross that misses

That's one minute gone in the round. Melo connects with a nice looking jab.
Melo blocks a head kick by Alvarez.
Melo drops down looking for a counter takedown but Alvarez sprawls and moves away. Melo getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Alvarez with a nice cross. Melo throws a right and a left that Alvarez avoids nicely. Melo misses with a hook. Alvarez only half commits to the counter leg kick. Melo lands a jab to the nose. Melo jabs at Alvarez's body. Melo looks to throw the jab but Alvarez is out of range. Melo connects with a crisp jab. Melo throws a hook but Alvarez avoids it easily. Melo fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Alvarez sprawls well initially but Melo persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Melo trying to mount his opponent but Alvarez defends it. Alvarez looks like he's trying to stand up.
Alvarez has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Melo is working away from the top position though. Alvarez is looking to escape. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Alvarez is in trouble now - Melo has advanced to mount! Alvarez is looking to improve his position but Melo isn't that keen on the idea. Melo is trying to take his opponent's back.
Melo takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Melo jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Alvarez is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Alvarez and Melo has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Alvarez can't do much from the bottom here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Melo is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Alvarez has escaped the position, nice work there. Melo wants to lay and pray for a moment but Alvarez keeps working. Alvarez trying his best to control but Melo has mounted him. Alvarez is controlling an arm, preventing Melo from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.
Melo avoids the attempt from Alvarez to control. Alvarez is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Alvarez wants to use the ropes to get back to his feet here.
Alvarez is looking to improve his position but Melo isn't that keen on the idea.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Melo moves to the back position. Alvarez is keeping busy.
Melo gets his hands free as Alvarez looks to control. Melo has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Melo is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Alvarez is defending well though. Melo let's go of the attempt for now. Melo has the hooks in. Alvarez is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted. Alvarez wants to get back to his feet. Melo looking for the rear naked choke. And he's got it! Alvarez taps!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Renan Melo! Renan Melo decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way. In defeat, Michael Alvarez stepped up to the mic, saying 'I admit defeat. He did a good job.'.
