Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dave McGee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Ruden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McGee comes to the ring accompanied by Tref - Pasopvoordetrap. Dave McGee has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dave McGee! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
14 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Joe Ruden! The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Fedor Mirinova and Vladimir Khabensky.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McGee misses with a series of wild punches.
Ruden with a jab. McGee takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. McGee misses with a combination
and Ruden counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Joe Ruden seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Ruden throws a head kick that misses. McGee is pinned up against the ropes taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Ruden connects with a leg kick. McGee looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. McGee takes a body punch but keeps moving. Ruden missing with a left hand there. McGee was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Ruden tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. McGee takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! McGee takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

A bone on bone clash there as Ruden blocks the leg kick.
McGee wants to clinch up but Ruden keeps it at a distance. Ruden scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Ruden decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Ruden slips a nice elbow through McGee's hands, connecting with McGee's forehead. Ground and pound from Ruden. Ruden throwing shots but McGee is blocking nicely. McGee is looking to control Ruden's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can McGee avoid being mounted? In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Ruden working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well. Ruden looks to score some points with some ground and pound. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. This has been an exciting period of action! Ruden is looking for a kimura but McGee is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Ruden to get the leverage. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ruden wants to lay and pray for a moment but McGee keeps working. Ruden prevents McGee from improving his position. Ruden is thwarting McGee's attempts to control the position. Ruden throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. McGee is not content to let Ruden control the position. Ruden not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. McGee is looking for a sweep. Ruden is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. McGee is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ruden is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. McGee doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Ruden. McGee moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Ruden is looking to work some ground and pound but McGee has wrist control. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Ruden accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. McGee working a defensive guard here.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Ruden scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Ruden moves nicely into side control. Ruden wants to control but McGee is keeping him busy. Ruden controlling the position. Ruden landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. You can see the frustration on McGee's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Ruden looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Ruden advances to mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Joe Ruden dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
McGee throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
McGee scores with a hook to the body. Ruden takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. McGee keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Ruden. McGee keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
McGee tries to clinch but Ruden moves out of range. Joe Ruden seems to be getting the better of the standup. Ruden throws a series of punches but McGee avoids them all with ease. Ruden misses with a double jab
and McGee counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
It looks like Joe Ruden has been cut. McGee doesn't manage to clinch there - Ruden circles away.
Ruden leaves McGee with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Ruden is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down McGee rather than just go for the knockout. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ruden walks into a straight right hand from McGee. Ruden lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

Ruden throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around McGee's waist but McGee gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Ruden off to one side. McGee seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. McGee instigates a clinch. Ruden looking to slow down the pace here. Ruden blocks a body shot from McGee. Ruden has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Ruden fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Both guys are working to get underhooks. Ruden drops to a knee looking for a takedown but McGee gets the underhooks and prevents it.

The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. Ruden lands a left hand.
Ruden escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Ruden looks to throw the jab but McGee is out of range. Ruden dips down and scores with a jab to the body. McGee fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. McGee fails to land the takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dave McGee. That's going to take a lot out of him. Ruden throws a right and a left that McGee avoids nicely.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. McGee wants to control from the top but Ruden keeps moving. Ruden tries to land a sweep but no joy. McGee has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Ruden is proving hard to escape from. McGee stopping the sweep attempt from Ruden. McGee is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Ruden pulls his head out easily. Ruden trying to control the action but McGee is working from the bottom. No, McGee has managed to get both his arms back between Ruden's legs - danger averted. Ruden can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as McGee controls the pace. McGee trying to stand up but can't free himself from Ruden's guard. Ruden working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from McGee. McGee trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Ruden has his foot on McGee's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. McGee works his way back into a safe position though. McGee wanted to stand there but Ruden had control of the position. Ruden is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. McGee is aware though and is defending well. Ruden working for a triangle but McGee defends it easily.
Ruden is absolutely dripping with sweat - he looks exhausted. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! McGee avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

McGee takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. McGee shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Ruden as he avoids it easily. McGee takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. A chopping leg kick lands by Ruden. McGee has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Ruden. Ruden jabbing away but nothing is landing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ruden throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by McGee. Donk. Ruden catches McGee right on the button with a cross. Ruden misses with a series of wild punches.

That's one minute gone in the round. A jab from Ruden misses. No luck for McGee with that takedown attempt. Ruden swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by McGee. Ruden circles away from the clinch attempt.
Ruden gets tackled into the ropes by McGee. McGee maintains the clinch. Ruden is looking for a takedown up against the ropes. McGee gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. McGee lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the ropes. McGee throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Rudens head. Ruden tries to throw a body punch but McGee avoids it by throwing Ruden back against the ropes. Ruden tries for a takedown. No joy.
Ruden is wobbling all over the place through exhaustion. Will he make it to the final bell?
That's two minutes gone in the round. McGee jumps guard but Ruden stands there with McGee around his waist. McGee gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Ruden connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between McGee's hands. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Ruden.
Ruden scores with a nice strike. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. McGee is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McGee stuffs the takedown attempt from Ruden. Ruden gets slowly back to his feet. Dave McGee has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! McGee moves away from the strike by Ruden. Sloppy strikes from McGee. Those never looked like landing. McGee shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Ruden's guard. McGee trying to control but Ruden is working from the bottom. Ruden looking to sweep here. No luck so far. McGee content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Ruden has locked up a guillotine! Ruden's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? McGee is holding on here and Ruden must be using up a lot of energy. McGee has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Ruden gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
