PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Omar Dzczaskz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ricardo Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dzczaskz comes to the cage accompanied by 2Pac – Scared Straight . Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 53 - 20 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Omar Dzczaskz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 37 - 11 - 1, fighting out of London, Ricardo Gracie!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Tiny Johnson and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dzczaskz is looking to slow Gracie down with leg kicks.
Dzczaskz tried to score with a low kick but Gracie checks it.
Dzczaskz stuffs the takedown attempt from Gracie. Gracie gets slowly back to his feet.
Gracie checks a low kick from Dzczaskz.
Gracie blocks a leg kick.
Dzczaskz tried to score with a low kick but Gracie checks it.
Dzczaskz scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Dzczaskz finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Gracie with the counter takedown but Dzczaskz avoids it easily.
Gracie shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Dzczaskz pinned against the cage. Dzczaskz gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Dzczaskz throws a leg kick but Gracie sees it coming and checks it nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gracie steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Dzczaskz. That one must have hurt.
Dzczaskz misses with a hook. Gracie ducked under it nicely.
Gracie feints the counter takedown.
Dzczaskz throws a half hearted mid kick.

Gracie fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Dzczaskz sprawls well initially but Gracie persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Gracie looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Dzczaskz regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Gracie.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gracie trying to control the position from guard on top but Dzczaskz is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Gracie trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dzczaskz is pulling down on Gracie's head to control his posture.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Dzczaskz lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Dzczaskz gets to his feet - Gracie follows without any prompting.
Gracie shoots in for a double leg but Dzczaskz sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Omar Dzczaskz has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ricardo Gracie.

Gracie shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Gracie was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Dzczaskz tries to buck Gracie off but Gracie is having none of it.

Dzczaskz has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
You can see the frustration on Dzczaskz's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Gracie has control of an arm but Dzczaskz manages to advance to Gracie's back!

Gracie is still trying to improve position.
Gracie has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Dzczaskz has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Gracie's body.
Dzczaskz has the hooks in. Gracie is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

Dzczaskz controls the action.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Dzczaskz will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Gracie tries to escape but Dzczaskz has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
Gracie prevents Dzczaskz from getting a body triangle.
Gracie tries to roll but Dzczaskz sticks to his back.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dzczaskz misses with a low kick.
Gracie closes this distance looking for a takedown but Dzczaskz circles away.

Gracie bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Dzczaskz is working to avoid the ground and pound but Gracie connects with a decent elbow.

The strikes coming from Gracie are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Gracie throws an elbow but Dzczaskz slips to the side and avoids it well.

Gracie cracks Dzczaskz with a big right hand but Dzczaskz just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Gracie tries to move into full mount but can't pass Dzczaskz's legs.
Gracie tries to score with some ground and pound. Dzczaskz controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Gracie just content to control the position.
Gracie wants to lay and pray for a moment but Dzczaskz keeps working.
Dzczaskz sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Gracie is pressing down on Dzczaskz's thigh, looking to free his foot. Dzczaskz is holding on for now.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Gracie goes for a double leg but Dzczaskz avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Dzczaskz continues to drive forward.

Dzczaskz has one foot on Gracie's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Gracie is trying hard to land a takedown here. Dzczaskz sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Gracie tries for a takedown but Dzczaskz sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Gracie shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Dzczaskz but Dzczaskz pushes him off and we're back to square one.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Gracie tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Dzczaskz defends well and Gracie ends up having to push Dzczaskz into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

It seemed like Gracie was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Dzczaskz gets caught napping as Gracie dives in and scores a takedown. Dzczaskz manages to retain guard.
Gracie in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Dzczaskz wants to get back to his feet but Gracie is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Gracie throws a strike but Dzczaskz rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

That was a close second round but I would say that Omar Dzczaskz will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Dzczaskz is wriggling around but Gracie manages to pass to half guard.

Gracie seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Gracie throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Dzczaskz is rocked!

Gracie working for a submission but Dzczaskz is keeping him at bay.
Oh Dzczaskz is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Gracie scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Dzczaskz?
Poor strikes thrown by Gracie there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Dzczaskz really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Gracie sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Gracie misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

You get the feeling that Dzczaskz really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Dzczaskz takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Gracie avoids the attempt from Dzczaskz to control.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Gracie fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Dzczaskz is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Gracie postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Dzczaskz badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Gracie around the waist but Gracie pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Gracie is the winner by TKO! Gracie jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ricardo Gracie!
Ricardo Gracie took to the mic in his post fight interview and said 'My body may be failing but my heart is still willing!'.
