Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Seth Thomas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Darius Masters (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Masters is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by It's Been Awhile by Staind. Darius Masters is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Seth Thomas ! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Darius Masters! The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Chris Saunders and Micheangelo Fripello.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Thomas closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Masters's guard. Thomas slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Thomas wants to pass the guard but Masters is keeping the position. Thomas controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Masters has his foot on Thomas 's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Thomas works his way back into a safe position though. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Thomas is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Thomas postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Masters is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Thomas , into his guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Masters stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Thomas swivels though and keeps the full guard. Thomas working for a triangle but Masters defends it easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Thomas working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Masters. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Thomas looking for a guillotine here but Masters defends easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Masters trying to control but Thomas is working from the bottom. Masters slips nicely into half guard. Masters is trying to control. Thomas wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Masters throwing shots but Thomas is blocking nicely. Thomas keeping control of the position. Masters is trying to control. Thomas wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Masters looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Masters is looking for a kimura here.
Masters wants to advance to full mount but Thomas doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead. Thomas keeping moving, preventing Masters from controlling successfully.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Thomas scores with a takedown into Masters's guard. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Thomas 's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Masters can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Thomas controls the pace. Masters looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Thomas controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Masters controls Thomas momentarily but Thomas frees himself. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Masters gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Masters throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Masters controls Thomas momentarily but Thomas frees himself. Masters looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Thomas puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Masters is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Masters is looking to control Thomas 's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Masters avoid being mounted?
That's one minute gone in the round. Masters is looking for a sweep. Thomas is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Masters manages to get to full guard.
Thomas wanted to stand there but Masters had control of the position. Masters trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Thomas tries to free his leg and advance position but Masters is retaining full guard. Seth Thomas overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Thomas controls from within his opponent's guard. Masters keeping full guard, as Thomas tries to pass.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Masters pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Masters tries to score a power double leg takedown but Thomas sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Masters somewhat. A momentary lapse in concentration from Masters enables Thomas to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Masters manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Masters looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Masters is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Thomas makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Thomas preventing the sweep. Masters keeping full guard, as Thomas tries to pass. Masters has a closed guard, preventing Thomas from standing up. Thomas distracts Masters with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Masters tries to land a sweep but no joy. Thomas slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Thomas has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Masters is proving hard to escape from. Thomas controls from within his opponent's guard.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Thomas scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Seth Thomas dominated that second round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!
Masters shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Thomas as he avoids it easily. Thomas gets in close and instigates a clinch. Thomas breaks the clinch.
Thomas shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Thomas showed some decent athleticism there. Thomas is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

That's one minute gone in the round. Masters wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Thomas is now in half guard. Thomas uses his free foot to push down on Masters's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Masters. Thomas knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Masters on the ground. Masters is looking to get to half guard. Thomas controlling the pace for now. Masters manages to regain half guard. Good work. Thomas sitting and controlling from the half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Thomas is thwarting Masters's attempts to control the position. Thomas takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Masters is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Masters trying to control here.

Thomas wants to take Masters's back here but Masters is holding on to an arm, himself looking to escape.

Masters sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Thomas not doing much here.

And that's the end of the fight! Seth Thomas showed his dominance in that final round. Well Thomas has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
