Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Brent Brandon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and William Ryder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ryder has chosen Country Boy by Aaron Lewis as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Brent Brandon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, William Ryder!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Daniel Blasius and Aafke Stam.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brandon dives in and grabs Ryder's left leg, looking for a takedown. Ryder pushes down on Brandon's head and hops out.
Brandon darts in looking for a takedown but Ryder gets double underhooks and turns Brandon into the cage.

Ryder has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Brandon has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.

Brandon has clasped his hands together around Ryder's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Ryder can't do much from the bottom here.

Brandon is trying to get an arm triangle but Ryder is defending well.
Brandon wants to stand but Ryder has his arm trapped.
Ryder is looking to regain half guard here but Brandon keeps moving and retains side control.

Ryder stops Brandon from passing to mount.
Ryder wants to control but Brandon postures up.
Brandon trying to control the action but Ryder is working from the bottom.
Ryder tries to buck Brandon off but Brandon is having none of it.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Ryder can do anything to dispel that myth.
Brandon will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Ryder looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Ryder is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Brandon advances to mount.
Brandon fails to move to back control.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Ryder wants to hold on but Brandon pushes him away.
Brandon pushing the pace here, looking to move to his opponents back and work for a finish.

Brandon is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Ryder can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Brandon is breathing heavily.
You get the feeling that Ryder really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Brandon has control of Ryder's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Ryder regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Brandon wants to take his opponent's back but he's not managed it.

Ryder is wriggling around trying to escape.
Ryder tries to lock up and control but Brandon gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Brandon is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Ryder is surviving well by controlling Brandon's body position as best he can.
Brandon really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Ryder bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ryder content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Ryder's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Let's hope that Ryder has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Brandon has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Ryder can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Brent Brandon dominated that round.
That's time! Brandon's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Ryder shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Brandon manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Brandon is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Ryder defends well.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Brandon wants to sweep here but Ryder controlling him for the moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ryder really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Brandon. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Ryder is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Brandon is looking for a triangle but Ryder pushes his legs off easily.

Ryder got a little sloppy there for a moment and Brandon has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Ryder has managed to get both his arms back between Brandon's legs - danger averted.

Ryder decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Still in half guard, Ryder seems content to control.

Brandon tries to roll over but Ryder keeps him under control.

Brandon had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Ryder defends it easily.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Brandon shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Ryder as he avoids it easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but William Ryder will probably get the nod - 10:9.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

Brandon is working for an americana but Ryder has been sneaky and has managed to get back to half guard, whilst Brandon was thinking about the submission.

Brandon is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Ryder doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Brandon.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Brandon is looking to take a break and control but Ryder is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Brandon prevents Ryder from improving his position.

Ryder is looking for a sweep. Brandon is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Ryder regains full guard. Nicely done.
Brandon is fighting to break Ryder's control of his arms but Ryder is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Brandon won't allow Ryder to get back to his feet.
Ryder pulls Brandon in close to his closed guard and prevents Brandon from doing any damage or advancing position.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Ryder ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Brandon moves away.
Brandon fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
No luck for Brandon with that takedown attempt.

William Ryder comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Ryder has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
