Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Justin Jolly (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kyoji Anzai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Justin Jolly! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kyoji Anzai! The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Robert Douchet and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Anzai scores with a head kick.
Anzai stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Anzai wants it to stay on the feet. Anzai moves into the clinch successfully.
The referee calls for Anzai to work.
Anzai is trying to drag Jolly to the mat but Jolly just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Anzai is pushing Jolly up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A short uppercut from Anzai. Jolly pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jolly fails with a takedown attempt. Anzai pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Jolly seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance. Anzai gets in close and instigates a clinch. Jolly is trying to trip Anzai. He has hold of a leg but Anzai is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Jolly persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Jolly prevents Anzai from getting back to his feet. Jolly trying to control the position from guard on top but Anzai is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Anzai is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Jolly advances to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Anzai has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Jolly is working away from the top position though. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Jolly throwing shots but Anzai is blocking nicely. Anzai trying to control from the bottom.
Anzai is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Jolly is staying active. Jolly is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Anzai still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Anzai has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work! Anzai is looking to take a break and control but Jolly is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jolly tries to buck Anzai off but Anzai is having none of it. Jolly dodges the ground and pound from Anzai. Anzai creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Jolly sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Anzai misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Anzai throws a strike aimed at the side of Jolly's head but Jolly avoids it well. Anzai tries to stand but Jolly is controlling his head. Anzai tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Anzai is trying to get an arm triangle but Jolly is defending well. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Anzai is looking to take a break and control but Jolly is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Anzai tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kyoji Anzai dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Anzai fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Jolly, pushing him back against the cage. Anzai breaks the clinch.

Anzai darts in trying to clinch and Jolly counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Anzai is trying to control the position but Jolly postures up. Anzai is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Anzai keeping moving, preventing Jolly from controlling successfully. Jolly has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Jolly wants to stand but Anzai is controlling his posture from full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jolly got a little sloppy there for a moment and Anzai has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Jolly has managed to get both his arms back between Anzai's legs - danger averted. Jolly wants to control from the top but Anzai keeps moving. Anzai lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Anzai prevents Jolly from getting back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Jolly can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Anzai controls the pace. Anzai won't allow Jolly to sweep him here. Anzai wants to control from the top but Jolly keeps moving. Anzai wants to stand but Jolly is controlling his posture from full guard. Jolly trying to keep a closed guard but Anzai is proving a slippery customer.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Anzai misses with a two punch combination.
Jolly shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Anzai as he avoids it easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Anzai lands a really nice looking cross but Jolly seems unphased.
Jolly fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Anzai drives through and clinches with Jolly against the cage.
Anzai has Jolly pressed against the cage.
Anzai tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Jolly just stands there and leans against the cage. Jolly goes for a takedown attempt but Anzai pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Justin Jolly. That's going to take a lot out of him. Jolly looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Jolly looking to sit in guard and control but Anzai gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Anzai wanted to stand there but Jolly had control of the position. Anzai wants to stand and escape but instead Jolly has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Jolly stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Anzai swivels though and keeps the full guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Jolly works a leg free and moves into half guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Anzai punching from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kyoji Anzai showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. And we move into the final round!
Anzai misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Justin Jolly is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Anzai misses with the combination.
As Anzai looks to move away, Jolly throws a big counter combo bu Anzai just gets out of the way. Jolly darts in looking for a takedown but Anzai gets double underhooks and turns Jolly into the cage. Anzai tries to clinch up but Jolly circles away and keeps his distance. Anzai has Jolly up against the cage in a clinch.
Anzai decides to pull guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Anzai keeping full guard, as Jolly tries to pass. Jolly postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Anzai is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Jolly, into his guard. Anzai is looking to advance position but Jolly has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
That's one minute gone in the round. Jolly unloads with some shots from mount but Anzai bucks and avoids them well.
Anzai is working to get back to half guard.
Anzai is trying to reverse the position but instead Jolly has taken his back - oops! Jolly has the hooks in. Anzai is starting to panic. He's trying to push off one of the legs but he's left his neck open to attack. Jolly passes his arm under Anzai's neck and tightens up a rear naked choke! This one is surely all over! Yes, Anzai taps!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Justin Jolly!
