Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Carl Casey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carl Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carl Diaz told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Carl Casey! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Carl Diaz! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Dillan Fox and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Diaz is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Casey ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Diaz moves away. Diaz moves away from the strike by Casey. Casey misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Casey looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Casey shoots in looking for a takedown. Diaz tries to sprawl out of it but Casey keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Diaz manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Diaz tries for a takedown but Casey circles away easily and Casey counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Both fighters working to control the clinch. Casey avoids the elbow strike from Diaz, against the cage.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
That's one minute gone in the round. Diaz swings wildly with an uppercut but Casey uses good head movement to avoid it. Casey works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Diaz is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Casey is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Diaz trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Casey cracks Diaz with a solid left hand. Casey controls the pace of the fight for a moment. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Casey with a nice head shot there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Diaz had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Casey defends it easily. Casey is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Casey postures up.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Diaz looks winded!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Casey cracks Diaz with a solid left hand. Casey stops Diaz from standing up. Diaz working a defensive guard but Casey manages to pass into side control anyway.
Casey scoring with punches from side control. Casey controlling the position from side mount. Diaz takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Casey has hold of Diaz's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Diaz tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Casey cranks the arm and Diaz screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Diaz, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Carl Casey!
