Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Pedro Almodovar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pozar Pozar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Almodovar comes into the arena with Underground blaring out of the sound system. Pozar has chosen z Buta Wjeżdzam as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
12 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Pedro Almodovar! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
18 - 25 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Pozar Pozar! The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Dmitry Maklakov and Aleksei Zolotukhin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice jab there from Almodovar. Pozar closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Almodovar's guard. Almodovar might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Almodovar managing to control the position. In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Pozar working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Pozar trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Pozar throws a big right hand that misses. Pozar trying to control but Almodovar is working from the bottom. Pozar stands up over Almodovar, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Almodovar keeping moving, preventing Pozar from controlling successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pozar throwing strikes but missing. Almodovar looking to hit a scissor sweep but Pozar is one step ahead there. Pozar slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Almodovar has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Pozar has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage. Pozar blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Almodovar tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Almodovar escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Pozar walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pozar uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Almodovar. Almodovar tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Pozar shoots for a double leg takedown but Almodovar sprawls well. He's pushed Pozar's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Almodovar lands a two punch combo.
It looks like Pozar Pozar has been cut. Almodovar throws a looping overhand right but Pozar ducks down to avoid it. Almodovar stuffs the takedown attempt from Pozar. Pozar gets slowly back to his feet. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! A combination from Almodovar does no damage. Pozar is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Pozar has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Almodovar. Almodovar is looking light on his feet compared to last time was saw him fight. Almodovar throws the left hand but Pozar avoids the punch easily. Almodovar misses with a low kick. Pozar takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Pozar closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Almodovar did well to prevent Pozar getting side control. Almodovar tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Pozar manages to move to mount!
Pozar has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Pozar tries to control but Almodovar wriggling away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Almodovar tries to hold on but Pozar pushes him away. Pozar is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Almodovar is surviving well by controlling Pozar's body position as best he can. Almodovar is in all sorts of trouble here.
Pozar wants to finish this one by submission but Almodovar is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Pozar. Pozar is working for a guillotine from mount but Almodovar frees his head quite easily.

Pozar can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Almodovar is looking to escape. Pozar sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Pozar connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Almodovar is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Pozar jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Almodovar is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Almodovar and Pozar has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Pozar staying out of range there. Pozar closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Almodovar is trying to stand back up but Pozar is controlling him
Pozar frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Almodovar tries to lock up and control but Pozar gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Pozar is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Almodovar has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Almodovar! Pozar looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Almodovar passes into side control.

That's one minute gone in the round. Pozar struggling a bit here. Almodovar gets to mount! Pozar was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly. Pozar tries to hold on but Almodovar postures up. Pozar tries to get back to half guard but can't. Almodovar takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Pozar is trying to escape the mount.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Pozar has his foot on Almodovar's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Almodovar works his way back into a safe position though. Pozar looking for a guillotine here but Almodovar defends easily.
Almodovar's corner is telling him to maintain position. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Almodovar got a little sloppy there for a moment and Pozar has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Almodovar has managed to get both his arms back between Pozar's legs - danger averted. Pozar working a defensive guard here.

Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Pozar pushes Almodovar against the cage but Almodovar circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Almodovar darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Pozar fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Pedro Almodovar has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pozar Pozar. Almodovar scores with a crisp jab that stopped Pozar in his tracks. Almodovar lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Pozar takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pozar avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Pozar shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Almodovar as he avoids it easily. Pozar shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Pozar was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Pozar working away.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Pozar working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. You can see the frustration on Almodovar's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Pozar has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Almodovar! Almodovar wants to control but Pozar is having none of it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Pozar is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Almodovar is surviving well by controlling Pozar's body position as best he can. Almodovar avoids a series of strikes thrown by Pozar.
Almodovar is squirming around, avoiding Pozar's attempts to control the action. Pozar moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Almodovar has worked his arm free - good work by Almodovar!
