The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Irenicus smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Hero fails to land with a series of punches.
An inside leg kick from Irenicus misses.
Hero has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Irenicus.
Irenicus tries to work over Hero's front leg with a kick but Hero checks it.
Irenicus shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Irenicus scores with a head kick.
It looks like Canadian Hero has been cut.
Irenicus throws a solid leg kick but Hero takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Irenicus.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Hero.
Irenicus swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Hero wants to counter the offense by Irenicus and move into the clinch position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hero is looking to chop away at Irenicus's legs.
Hero avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Hero gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Still in the clinch, Hero scores with a nice short uppercut.

Irenicus is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Hero is keeping busy.
Irenicus tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Irenicus breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Jon Irenicus seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Hero moves out of range as Irenicus strikes.
Irenicus throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Hero sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Hero unleashes a big counter combination but Irenicus bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Hero looks to land a body kick but Irenicus moved away.
Irenicus lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Hero instigates a clinch.
Hero takes a shot to the head.

Hero throws a head punch that misses.

Irenicus breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Irenicus throws an overhand right that lands on Hero's shoulder, as Hero tries to avoid the shot.

Irenicus thumps Hero with a low kick.
Irenicus lands with an overhand left.
Hero is rocked!
Irenicus steps into range and unloads a brutal right left combo! Hero is out on his feet! Irenicus sets himself and nearly takes Hero's head off with a straight right, sending him crashing to the mat! Wow, that was nasty... but awesome! Wooo!
