And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 25 - 23 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Fred Sanford!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Alan Glass and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Williams misses with an uppercut. Sanford saw that one coming.
Williams throws a big shot that misses.
Sanford tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Sanford lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Sanford tries a head kick but it misses.
Williams lands the left hand.


It looks like Fred Sanford has been cut.
Jackson Williams seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Williams misses with a hook. Sanford ducked under it nicely.
Sanford appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick.
Williams scores with a jab to the jaw.
Williams doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Williams has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Sanford follows through with a counter body kick but it doesn't land.
Sanford displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Williams throws out the jab.
Williams throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Sanford sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Sanford uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Williams.
Fred Sanford is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Williams misses with a right hand
and Sanford counters with a nice low kick that buckles Williams's knee momentarily.
Sanford pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Williams shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Sanford defends it nicely.
Williams moves out of range of the body kick from Sanford.
Williams shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Sanford but Sanford pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Sanford throws a leg kick but Williams moved away.
Williams walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Williams drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Sanford wants to get back to his feet but Williams is dominant here and he's now got Sanford's back!

Sanford breaks Williams's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.

Sanford avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Sanford got a little sloppy there for a moment and Williams has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Sanford has managed to get both his arms back between Williams's legs - danger averted.

Williams is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Sanford defends well.

Williams is trying to control the position but Sanford postures up.
Sanford wants to control from the top but Williams keeps moving.
Sanford throws a strike but Williams rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Williams is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Sanford sees it coming and defends easily.
Williams prevents Sanford from improving his position.
Williams content to control rather than advance.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Jackson Williams will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Fred Sanford's cut.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Williams has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Sanford.
Sanford misses with a head kick.
Sanford takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Sanford dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Williams. That did some damage!
Williams looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Sanford is fending him off so far but Williams persists. Nope, Sanford circles away and we're back to standing.
Sanford avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Sanford misses with a leg kick.
Sanford throws an overhand right that lands on Williams's shoulder, as Williams tries to avoid the shot.
Williams throws a looping overhand right but Sanford ducks down to avoid it.
Sanford tries to counter by closing the distance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A slow jab from Williams misses its intended target.
A punch lands to the side of Sanford 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Donk. Williams catches Sanford right on the button with a cross.


That has opened up Fred Sanford's cut even more.
Williams scores with a nice strike.
Williams misses with a hook.
Williams is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Sanford throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Williams throws a big overhand right that connects, sending Sanford tumbling to the canvas!


Sanford is rocked!
Williams pushing down on Sanford's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Sanford is still in real trouble! Can Williams finish him?
Sanford won't allow Williams to pass to mount.
Jackson Williams overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Williams is trying to work for a kimura but Sanford is defending well.

Williams is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Sanford doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Williams.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sanford gets back to full guard.
Sanford controls Williams momentarily but Williams frees himself.

Williams pushes down on Sanford's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Williams looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Williams prevents Sanford from improving his position.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Williams is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Sanford works his way to full guard. Good work.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Sanford is on top in guard.


Sanford is posturing up here but Williams has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Sanford tries to roll out but it's too tight and Sanford has to tap! Slick submission there by Williams!
