Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Chris Tompkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Elof Jurgs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chris Tompkins! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Elof Jurgs! The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Eddie Farnsworth and John Kavanagh.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jurgs shoots in and gets a takedown into Tompkins's guard. Jurgs stands up over Tompkins, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Jurgs stays in close to Tompkins's body and controls the position. Jurgs cracks Tompkins with a solid left hand. Jurgs throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Jurgs scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Jurgs slips nicely into half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Tompkins has hold of Jurgs's hands but Jurgs slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Jurgs slows the pace down in half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jurgs missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Jurgs lands with a punch from half guard. Tompkins is trying to stand back up but Jurgs is controlling him
Jurgs has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Jurgs thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Tompkins's head. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jurgs is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Jurgs in particular looking to stall. Jurgs landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Tompkins has hold of Jurgs's hands but Jurgs slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Tompkins is rocked! Jurgs sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Tompkins defending well though. Oh Tompkins is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Tompkins on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Tompkins tries to get out of the position. Tompkins is breathing heavily. Jurgs sitting and controlling from the half guard. Tompkins seems to have got his legs back now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Tompkins walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Jurgs shoots in for a takedown but Tompkins shows good takedown defense.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Jurgs shoots in looking for a takedown but Tompkins manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Jurgs's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Tompkins swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Jurgs connects with a body shot that sends Tompkins's belly button to the back. Jurgs tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Tompkins defends well and Jurgs ends up having to push Tompkins into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Chris Tompkins has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Elof Jurgs. Jurgs feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Tompkins is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Jurgs's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Jurgs throwing strikes from guard but Tompkins blocks nicely. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Jurgs lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Jurgs scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Jurgs has a takedown stuffed. Tompkins was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Jurgs fails with the takedown. Jurgs obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Jurgs tries to score a power double leg takedown but Tompkins sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Jurgs somewhat.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Excellent takedown into side control there by Jurgs. Tompkins prevents Jurgs from moving into mount. Tompkins is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Jurgs is controlling him well. Jurgs is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Tompkins will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jurgs is continuing to stall. Chris Tompkins has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Tompkins tries to strike but it doesn't land. Tompkins trying to remain calm as Jurgs controls from the top position. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Tompkins throws an elbow to the body but it doesn't land.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Tompkins displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Jurgs.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Chris Tompkins. Well Jurgs has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality.
