Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alec Norris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wally Stalin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wally Stalin has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Alec Norris!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Wally Stalin!
The judges for this bout are Ben Hemmingworth, Eliza Hachem and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Stalin tries to keep at a distance but Norris has taken the fight into the clinch.

Stalin gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Norris regains guard.

Norris is looking for a triangle but Stalin pushes his legs off easily.
Norris looking to control.
Norris could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Stalin controls from within his opponent's guard.
Norris trying to control the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Stalin got a little sloppy there for a moment and Norris has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Stalin has managed to get both his arms back between Norris's legs - danger averted.

Norris looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Stalin looking to pass the guard.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Stalin tries to keep at a distance but Norris has taken the fight into the clinch.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Norris wants to stall.
Norris wants to stall.
Norris seems a little flustered. He's come in with the intention of controlling the clinch but Stalin is preventing him from doing so, at least for the moment.

Stalin is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Norris can't fight it off and eventually Stalin manages to take the fight to the floor. Norris looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Norris wants to stand and escape but Stalin is having none of it.
Stalin controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Norris looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Stalin passes into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Stalin controlling the action here.
Norris wants to get back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Norris gets a clinch.

Norris jumps guard.
Norris wants to get back to his feet but Stalin is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Alec Norris will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Norris moves into the clinch successfully.
Stalin blocks an elbow strike.
Norris misses with a punch to the body.
Norris taking a breather.

Stalin tightens his grip and picks Norris up, before dumping him to the ground. Norris manages to land in guard.

Norris is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Norris working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Stalin doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Stalin manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Stalin stays in close to Norris's body and controls the position.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Stalin must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Norris is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Stalin has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Norris regains guard immediately.
Norris is looking to stand back up but Stalin counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Norris.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Stalin is controlling the pace.
Stalin tries to pass the half guard into mount. Norris knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Norris keeps control of the position for the meantime.

Stalin is figuring out what he wants to do next.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Wally Stalin will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!



Norris has closed the distance and engaged Stalin in a clinch.

Stalin has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Norris clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Norris is in bad spot here.
What can Norris do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

Norris tries to roll but Stalin sticks to his back.

Stalin controls the action.
Norris is trying to stand back up.
Norris trying to control the position but Stalin manages to sink in the hooks.
Norris is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.
A bit of a pause in the action here. Stalin controlling the positon.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Norris wants to control his opponent's hands but Stalin gets his hands free.
Wally Stalin has got the better of the ground game so far.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Norris tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
Stalin avoids the attempt from Norris to control.
Norris wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
Norris is in all sorts of trouble here.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Stalin controlling the position easily from mount.
Norris tries to lock up and control but Stalin gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Stalin takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Stalin's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

And that's the end of the fight!
Wally Stalin comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Stalin has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
