Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Deshawn Jackson!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Ryoma Takatsuka and Chris Saunders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rayeed throws a lazy uppercut
and Jackson counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Jackson throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Rayeed.

Rayeed drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Jackson keeping moving, preventing Rayeed from controlling successfully.
Jackson throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Rayeed slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Jackson throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rayeed controlling from the top position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Rayeed throwing strikes from guard but Jackson blocks nicely.
Rayeed throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Jackson works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Rayeed trying to stand up but can't free himself from Jackson's guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Jackson closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Rayeed's guard.
Rayeed is adopting a defensive guard.

Rayeed throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Rayeed manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Jackson manages to get himself to full guard.

Rayeed slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Rayeed loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Rayeed throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Jackson works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Our spies down at at Cozad MMA Hilo inform us that Jackson has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?
Rayeed is looking to work some ground and pound but Jackson has wrist control.

Rayeed trying to control but Jackson is working from the bottom.
Rayeed controlling from the top position.
Rayeed wants to control from the top but Jackson keeps moving.
Rayeed stops Jackson from standing up.
Rayeed in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Rayeed throws a big elbow that misses.
Rayeed postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Rayeed working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Rayeed trying to control the position from guard on top but Jackson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Jackson utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Rayeed gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Jackson to score an easy takedown into full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jackson looks winded!

Rayeed has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Jackson doesn't defend quickly enough and Rayeed has managed to lock this one up! Can Jackson escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Rayeed on a fantastic submission victory.
