Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Josh Kane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Levi Chambers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Josh Kane has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Josh Kane!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Levi Chambers!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, John Roberts and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Chambers shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Chambers is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Kane has managed to free his arm - good work.
Kane works his way to full guard. Good work.
Chambers stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kane swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kane is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Chambers defends well.

Kane is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Chambers looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

Chambers stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kane swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Kane wants to get back to his feet but Chambers is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Chambers looking to sit in guard and control but Kane gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

We've been hearing that Kane has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Chambers has hold of Kane's hands but Kane slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Kane looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Chambers is looking to escape.
Kane has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Kane doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Chambers counters with a series of strikes. Kane will be more careful next time no doubt.

Chambers tries to bum rush Kane with a series of wild strikes but Kane uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Chambers tries for a takedown but Kane sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Chambers shoots in for a takedown but Kane shows good takedown defense.
Josh Kane has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Levi Chambers.

Chambers tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Chambers is trying to get back to his feet but Kane has full control of the position and if anything, Chambers has just worked his way into a worse spot.

Kane is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Chambers can do to turn this around?

Chambers is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Kane gets his way!
Chambers is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.

Kane ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Chambers moves away.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Kane thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Josh Kane is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Kane lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Josh Kane showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Kane, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
