Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gustavus Adolphus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lyoto Machida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Machida has chosen For Whom The Bell Tolls as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Daniel Cesar and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Machida feints a jab promting Adolphus to slip. Machida then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Adolphus slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Adolphus tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Adolphus swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Machida takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Machida looks to land a combination. Adolphus sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Adolphus throws a head kick that misses.
Machida swats away the attempt to clinch by Adolphus.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Machida lands a brutal head kick. Adolphus looks out on his feet and Machida throws more strikes until the ref is forced to stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Kick and Punches). Lyoto Machida!
Lyoto Machida was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
