Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jerrell Jimenez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hans Erikson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hans Erikson has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jerrell Jimenez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Hans Erikson!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, John Mangel and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jimenez displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Erikson.
Jimenez throws a big counter combination but Erikson scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.

Erikson feints and as Jimenez raises his hands in defense, Erikson changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Jimenez has his foot on Erikson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Erikson works his way back into a safe position though.
Erikson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jimenez swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Erikson lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Erikson shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Jimenez is trying to defend but Erikson finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jerrell Jimenez.
I think Erikson has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
