Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Fletcher Moran! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jake Stevenson! The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Alyssa Summers and Lou da Vinci.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stevenson throws a leg kick and Moran counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Stevenson seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Stevenson looking to control.
Stevenson has control of Moran's left arm, preventing Moran from doing any damage. Moran trying to stand up but can't free himself from Stevenson's guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Stevenson is trying to control the position but Moran postures up. Moran really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
That's one minute gone in the round. Moran would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Stevenson darts in and clinches Moran up against the cage. Moran successfully pulls guard.
Stevenson trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Moran being controlled here, momentarily. Stevenson trying to stand up but can't free himself from Moran's guard. Moran is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Moran keeping full guard, as Stevenson tries to pass. Stevenson content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Moran being controlled here, momentarily. Stevenson wants to control from the top but Moran keeps moving. Stevenson is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Moran knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Stevenson on the ground. Stevenson wants to get up but he can't break Moran's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Moran slips a jab and a cross from Stevenson.
Moran is looking to counter the offense by Stevenson and move into the clinch. Stevenson throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Stevenson tries a head kick but it misses.
Stevenson gets a takedown into half guard. Stevenson prevents Moran from improving his position. Stevenson wants to pass the guard but Moran is defending well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Stevenson is thwarting Moran's attempts to control the position. Moran looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Stevenson seems to be looking for submissions.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Moran is controlling Stevenson's trapped leg to prevent Stevenson from advancing to side control. Stevenson wants to take a breather but Moran is having none of it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jake Stevenson dominated that round. That's time! Moran's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Stevenson shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Moran manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Stevenson is standing up over Moran. Moran looks to escape but Stevenson dives into side control.
Stevenson wants to stand but Moran is controlling his arm. Stevenson has been the more effective fighter overall so far. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Stevenson looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Stevenson is looking to take a break and control but Moran is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Stevenson wants to stand but Moran is controlling his arm.

Stevenson creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Moran sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. The strikes coming from Stevenson are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Moran is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Moran sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Stevenson works his foot free and advances to mount.

Stevenson content just to control the position here. Moran takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Moran working to try and regain half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Moran wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Stevenson.
Stevenson tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Stevenson wants to take Moran's back but he can't do it this time. Stevenson lands a nice shot to the head. Stevenson tries to control but Moran wriggling away. Moran sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.

Stevenson stalling. Stevenson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Moran does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Moran is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Stevenson pulls his head out easily. Stevenson controlling the pace. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jake Stevenson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!
Stevenson scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Moran sneaks out the side door and pushes Stevenson away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape. Stevenson feints and as Moran raises his hands in defense, Stevenson changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Stevenson wants to stand but Moran is controlling his posture from full guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Stevenson is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Stevenson works a leg free and moves into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Moran lands with a few short shots to the body. Moran has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Stevenson is working away from the top position though. Stevenson is taking a breather. Moran says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Stevenson wants to take a breather but Moran is having none of it. Moran wants to get back to his feet. Stevenson is controlling the pace.

Both fighters are breathing heavily. Stevenson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Moran does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Moran is staying active underneath Stevenson, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Stevenson wants to stand up but Moran has a hold of him and won't allow it. The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Stevenson shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Stevenson showed some decent athleticism there.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Stevenson wants to work for an arm triangle but Moran is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Moran is staying active underneath Stevenson, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Stevenson is thwarting Moran's attempts to control the position. Stevenson with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Moran is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Fletcher Moran has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Jake Stevenson is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Stevenson uses his free foot to push down on Moran's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Moran.
And that's the end of the fight! Jake Stevenson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Stevenson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
