The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marish throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
A slow jab from Vee misses its intended target.
Marish looks to score with a jab to the body but Vee is just out of range.
Vee was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.

Vee throws a body shot but no joy.
A looping hook to the body misses from Vee. Marish does a little dance to reset his feet.
We've been hearing reports that Vee has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Vee jabs Marish right on the nose. Marish blinks but takes it well.

Vee moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
It looks like Brandon Vee has been cut.
Marish takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Vee bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Marish's head backwards.

Marish bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Vee's head backwards.

It looked like Vee was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Marish.
Vee shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Marish as he jumps to the side.
Marish unleashes a big counter combination but Vee bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Vee misses with an uppercut.
Marish steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Vee.
Marish lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Vee throws a hook but Marish blocks it.
A nice side step and Marish releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Marish swings for the body but Vee moves out of range.
Marish feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Vee is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Vee scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Marish is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Vee can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
