Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Todd Cannon! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Brian Jensen! The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Igor Prikhodko and Aleksandr Martynov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jensen decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Cannon wants to control but Jensen is keeping busy.
Jensen wants to pass the guard but Cannon is defending well. Jensen is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Cannon tries to hold on but Jensen postures up. Jensen looking to control but Cannon is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Jensen is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Cannon has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Cannon! Jensen working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Cannon doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Cannon manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jensen wants to sweep here but Cannon controlling him for the moment. Our spies down at at Amstadam MMA traning center inform us that Jensen has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off? Cannon wants to control from the top but Jensen keeps moving. Jensen throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Cannon escapes and throws Jensen's legs to the side, diving into side control! Jensen is looking to reverse the position. Jensen is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Cannon off and has taken his back! Jensen gets his hands free as Cannon looks to control. Jensen is working the back position looking for the choke. Oh, he's slid into an armbar! Beautiful transition and Cannon taps out! Fantastic Jiu Jitsu from Jensen.
