PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Joao Gabriel Orsini (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan White (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Orsini comes to the cage accompanied by Fury of the storm. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Orsini shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Orsini has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
White avoids the head kick by Orsini.
Orsini shoots in for a takedown but White shows good takedown defense.
White shoots and misses

and Orsini counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Orsini.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if White can do anything to dispel that myth.

White swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Dan White seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Orsini seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
White really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Orsini. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Orsini takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

White is working to get back to half guard.
White wants to control but Orsini is having none of it.

White is looking to improve his position but Orsini isn't that keen on the idea.
Orsini is landing with some decent strikes but White is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Orsini breaks from White's wrist control and lands an elbow.

White is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
White is in a horrible position here. Orsini smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
White tries to buck Orsini off but he can't manage it.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!



Orsini closes the distance and clinches.
Orsini has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. White avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Orsini is fighting off a takedown attempt but White is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Orsini to the mat. Orsini regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Orsini is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
White looking to sit in guard and control but Orsini gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
White can't keep his opponent in guard - Orsini advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Orsini is nestled in close to White, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
White tries to roll over but Orsini keeps him under control.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

White wants to control but Orsini is keeping busy and won't allow it.

and Orsini counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Orsini.
Orsini stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Orsini is trying to drag White to the mat but White just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

White breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Joao Gabriel Orsini is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Orsini moves in looking to clinch but White pushes him off.
Orsini circles away from the clinch attempt

and Orsini counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in White's guard now.
White bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Orsini's guard.
Orsini has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
White looking to sit in guard and control but Orsini gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Orsini controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
White throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.

Orsini stands and steps away. White gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Dan White has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Joao Gabriel Orsini is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

White gets caught flat footed, as Orsini shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Joao Gabriel Orsini showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Orsini, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
