Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kahwaah Jeeri (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mordecai Wollsey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kahwaah Jeeri!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 32 - 28 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Mordecai Wollsey!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jeeri is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Wollsey's half guard.
Wollsey makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Wollsey.
Jeeri throws a big right hand that misses.
Wollsey manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Jeeri manages to get himself to full guard.

Jeeri looking to hit a scissor sweep but Wollsey is one step ahead there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wollsey slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Wollsey in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Wollsey might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Jeeri haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Jeeri darts in looking for a takedown but Wollsey gets double underhooks and turns Jeeri into the cage.
Jeeri tries for a takedown but Wollsey sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Wollsey scores with a jab to the jaw.
Jeeri wants to slow Wollsey down by chopping away at his legs.
Wollsey scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Jeeri looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Wollsey throws a sloppy head kick and Jeeri moves out of range easily.
Jeeri fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kahwaah Jeeri. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Wollsey lands a high kick!
Wollsey feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Jeeri's calf.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Wollsey, as that shot connected.

Wollsey closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Jeeri's guard.

Jeeri is pulling down on Wollsey's head. It's preventing any offense from Wollsey, at least for the moment.

Wollsey wants to control from the top but Jeeri keeps moving.

Wollsey seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Jeeri closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Wollsey sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Jeeri wants to pass the guard but Wollsey is defending well.
Kahwaah Jeeri overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Wollsey is staying active underneath Jeeri, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Jeeri wants to pass to mount but Wollsey is defending the position.
Wollsey tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.

Jeeri is pressing down on Wollsey's thigh, looking to free his foot. Wollsey is holding on for now.

Wollsey is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Jeeri seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Wollsey does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
A decent looking cross lands there for Wollsey.
Wollsey stuffs the takedown.
Kahwaah Jeeri is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Jeeri accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Wollsey has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Jeeri has passed into side control.
Check out the look on Jeeri's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

Wollsey is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Jeeri in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.

Wollsey throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land.
Wollsey is not content to let Jeeri control the position.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Wollsey fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Jeeri has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Wollsey jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Wollsey pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Wollsey connects with an inside leg kick.
Jeeri throws a looping overhand right but Wollsey ducks down to avoid it.
Wollsey looks like he wanted to counter with a high kick but didn't throw it.
Jeeri shoots in and drives through. Wollsey sprawls well.
A looping hook to the body misses from Wollsey. Jeeri does a little dance to reset his feet.

Jeeri shoots in looking for a takedown. Wollsey tries to sprawl out of it but Jeeri keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Wollsey manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Jeeri doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Wollsey counters with a stiff right hand.
Wollsey lands a nice hook to Jeeri's body. Jeeri takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Jeeri shoots in looking for a takedown but Wollsey manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Jeeri's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Jeeri takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Wollsey slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Jeeri takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

Wollsey is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Jeeri goes for a double leg but Wollsey avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Wollsey continues to drive forward.
Jeeri shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Wollsey as he jumps to the side.

Wollsey thuds his right hand into Jeeri's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Jeeri swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Wollsey counters with a nice leg kick.

Wollsey just misses with a punch to the body.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Jeeri drops down looking for a counter takedown but Wollsey sprawls and moves away.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Jeeri.

Jeeri tries to clinch but Wollsey moves out of range.
Wollsey throws a head kick that misses.
Jeeri shoots in for a takedown but Wollsey shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Wollsey connects with a single shot there.
Jeeri tries to close the distance and clinch but Wollsey swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Wollsey doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
Wollsey fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Jeeri takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Jeeri moves out of range of the body kick.

And that's the end of the fight!
Mordecai Wollsey comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Wollsey has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
