Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Doby Burkhardt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yoshi Yamoto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Yamoto's choice of entrance music: Blow by Atreyu. Doby Burkhardt has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Doby Burkhardt! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Yoshi Yamoto! The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Taro Takaoka and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Yamoto swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Burkhardt shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Yamoto as he avoids it easily. Burkhardt swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Burkhardt throws a right and a left that both miss. Burkhardt tries to clinch up but Yamoto circles away and keeps his distance. Doby Burkhardt seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Burkhardt throws a nice looking combination but Yamoto bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Burkhardt misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Yamoto.
Burkhardt tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Burkhardt drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Yamoto is on top in guard.
Yamoto wants to control from the top but Burkhardt keeps moving. Burkhardt wants to stand up but Yamoto is controlling him. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Yamoto advances position into side control!
That's one minute gone in the round. Burkhardt tries to bench press Yamoto off him but Yamoto keeps the position. Yamoto is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Burkhardt knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Burkhardt on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Burkhardt tries to get out of the position. Burkhardt wants to get back to his feet. Burkhardt really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Burkhardt is trying to get back to half guard. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! The ground and pound from Yamoto seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Yamoto is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Burkhardt knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Burkhardt prevents Yamoto from moving into mount. Yamoto thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Burkhardt struggling a bit here. Yamoto looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Burkhardt is avoiding damage well.
Burkhardt wants to control but Yamoto postures up. Burkhardt is breathing heavily. Yamoto in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Yamoto has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Yamoto tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Yamoto wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Burkhardt, who protects the arm well. Yamoto working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. This has been an exciting period of action! The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Burkhardt tries to escape but Yamoto is in control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Yamoto landing strikes. Yamoto tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Burkhardt can't do much from the bottom here. Yamoto is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Burkhardt is trying to escape and Yamoto transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Burkhardt is forced to tap! Nice work there by Yamoto! Very nice indeed!
