Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Conor Macguire (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kenneth Ank (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Macguire comes to the cage accompanied by This Fire Burns. Ank has chosen RATM as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Kenneth Ank!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, William Gold and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ank throws a body kick that misses.
Macguire goes for a double leg but Ank avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Ank continues to drive forward.
Ank is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Macguire with a body shot.
Ank walks forward, straight into a front kick from Macguire.
Ank lands a nice looking kick to the body. Macguire takes a step back to recover.
Ank takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Ank scores with a three punch combo!
Macguire shoots in looking for a takedown. Ank tries to sprawl out of it but Macguire keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Ank manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Ank is trying to counter with his kicks.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ank changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Macguire tries to avoid it but Ank manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Macguire to the ground. Macguire escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Nice takedown defense from Ank. No joy for Macguire on that attempt.

Macguire dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Ank. That did some damage!

Macguire is looking to work some ground and pound but Ank has wrist control.

Macguire has gone for a leg lock! Ank slips out almost immediately though and dives into Macguire's guard.

Ank wants to control from the top but Macguire keeps moving.

Ank stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Macguire swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Ank postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Ank must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Ank stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Macguire swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Ank might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Macguire haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Ank stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Macguire swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Macguire lands with a kick to the ribs.
Ank drops his hands momentarily and Macguire takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Macguire enables Ank to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Macguire manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Macguire shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Ank as he avoids it easily.
Conor Macguire seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ank fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Macguire appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.

and Ank counters with a takedown into side control.
Macguire regains half guard there - taking advantage of Ank's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
Macguire tries to kick Ank off but Ank keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Macguire could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Ank fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Macguire sprawls well initially but Ank persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Macguire throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Ank tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Macguire is in Ank's guard.
Ank scores with a couple of body punches from the bottom.

Ank looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Ank working for a triangle but Macguire defends it easily.
Macguire cracks Ank with a solid left hand.

Ank not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Macguire's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Macguire distracts Ank with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Macguire stands up over Ank, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Ank really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Macguire. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Macguire lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Macguire passes into half guard.
Macguire thows a huge punch but Ank dodges it nicely.
Macguire slips a nice elbow through Ank's hands, connecting with Ank's forehead.

Macguire maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Ank could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Macguire has cracked it and Ank is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Macguire!

Conor Macguire decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
