Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Winford Ortega!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Miguel Ronaldo!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Ben Zyskovitsi and Matti Vanhoillinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ortega fails with the takedown.
Ronaldo changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Ronaldo is defended easily by Ortega.
As Ronaldo looks to move away, Ortega throws a big counter combo bu Ronaldo just gets out of the way.
Ortega shoots for a double leg takedown but Ronaldo sprawls well. He's pushed Ortega's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Ortega keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ortega tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Ortega closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Ronaldo's guard.

Ronaldo had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Ortega defends it easily.
Ortega is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ortega got a little sloppy there for a moment and Ronaldo has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Ortega has managed to get both his arms back between Ronaldo's legs - danger averted.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Ortega tries to score a power double leg takedown but Ronaldo sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Ortega somewhat.

Ortega shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Ronaldo napping and manages to drive through into side control!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Ronaldo is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Ortega is just riding it out for now. Ronaldo eventually gives up the hold.

Ronaldo has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Ortega defend it? Ronaldo steps over the head and cranks it - Ortega is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Ronaldo!
