Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Tanner Pounds (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Darko Vader (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vader has chosen To Survive UPF 27 as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tanner Pounds! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Darko Vader! The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Jeff Smith and Chris Saunders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pounds scores with a jab to the jaw. Vader needs to keep his hands up - Pounds had a free shot at his head there. Pounds with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Pounds scores with a jab to the body. Pounds manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Vader on his heels. He'll look to pass Vader's guard now, I'm sure. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Pounds throws a big right hand that misses. Pounds sitting in guard, not really doing much. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Pounds accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Pounds sitting in guard here, content to control. Pounds postures up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pounds is stalling in the full guard. Pounds content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Pounds makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Pounds is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Pounds trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Pounds postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Pounds showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Pounds working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Vader's head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pounds is in close to Vader's body, working some short punches and elbows. Pounds is stalling in the full guard. Vader is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Vader preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pounds distracts Vader with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Pounds landing with the ground and pound. Pounds has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Pounds is looking to work some ground and pound but Vader has wrist control. Pounds with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Pounds connects with a couple of short punches. Pounds forces his way into half guard. Pounds missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Pounds lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Pounds thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Vader's head. Pounds drops an elbow to the side of Vader's head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Vader has hold of Pounds's hands but Pounds slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Pounds is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Pounds looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Vader with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Vader is rocked! Pounds is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Pounds winds up and cracks Vader with a swinging punch to the side of the head. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Pounds takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Vader is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Pounds scores with a couple of nice shots. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Pounds throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Pounds missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Tanner Pounds dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Vader misses with a body shot.
Pounds lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Vader looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Vader looks to land a right hand but Pounds moved out of range. Pounds lands a jab. Pounds fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Vader sprawls well initially but Pounds persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Pounds thows a huge punch but Vader dodges it nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pounds keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Vader can do anything to dispel that myth. Pounds missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Pounds seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pounds seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Tanner Pounds overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Vader is looking to control Pounds's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Vader avoid being mounted? Pounds with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Nice strikes from Pounds there. Vader on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Pounds sitting and controlling from the half guard. Pounds is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Vader can do to turn this around?
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pounds winds up and cracks Vader with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Pounds is looking for a kimura but Vader is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Pounds to get the leverage. Pounds working over Vader with some ground and pound. Vader looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Pounds sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Vader defending well though. Pounds is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Pounds works his way into full mount! Pounds takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pounds seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Vader for as long as he can get away with. Vader takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Pounds lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Pounds tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Pounds has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Vader is bucking up trying to escape but Pounds cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Vader is still in real trouble! Can Pounds finish him? Vader tries to lock up and control but Pounds gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Vader seems to have recovered his senses.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pounds tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Pounds raining down shots from the mount! Pounds scoring with strikes but Vader is staying in there. Pounds unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Vader wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Pounds celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:44 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tanner Pounds! Tanner Pounds retains his featherweight title!
