The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aleski fails to land the takedown.
Vitor Rua seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rua getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
It looks like Erland Aleski has been cut.
Aleski shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Rua pinned against the cage. Rua gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Rua tries to bum rush Aleski with a series of wild strikes but Aleski uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Aleski dodges the punch combination from Rua.
Rua throws a hook but Aleski blocks it.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Rua!
Aleski is rocked!
Aleski shoots for a double leg takedown but Rua sprawls well. He's pushed Aleski's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Erland Aleski. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Rua grits his teeth and throws a big right-left combo! Aleski takes both shots clean on the chin and is out cold! Rua cracks him once more on his way down, as the crowd goes wild! They enjoyed that one!
