The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hewitt on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Laitinen missing with a left hand there. Hewitt was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Hewitt shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Hewitt is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Laitinen has managed to free his arm - good work. Hewitt thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Laitinen's head. Laitinen is trying to get back to full guard. Hewitt is working for a submission of some sort.

That's one minute gone in the round. Hewitt with the ground and pound but Laitinen uses the opportunity to regain guard. Hewitt tries to free his leg and advance position but Laitinen is retaining full guard. Hewitt passes easily into side control. Nice work. Hewitt tries for a kimura.
