Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Butch Steel! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, George West Jr! The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Chad Campbell and John Roberts.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Steel bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Steel uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from West Jr. We've been told by Steel's head coaches at The Jungle Elite MMA that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. West Jr waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Steel. Steel tried to counter with a leg kick but West Jr avoided it. West Jr takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Steel shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Steel throws a leg kick but West Jr sees it coming and moves out of range. A countering left hand to the body from West Jr misses. A big left from West Jr misses. Steel walks into a jab. Steel scoring well with a low kick there.
Steel throws a nice outside leg kick. Steel takes one to the side of the head.
West Jr scores with a jab. Steel acknowledges it with a nod of the head. An inside leg kick lands from Steel. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Nice uppercut lands for West Jr. That snapped Steel's head back.
Steel turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. West Jr throws a jab when Steel was well out of range. Steel uses good head movement to avoid the hook from West Jr. West Jr throws the left hand but Steel avoids the punch easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. A jab lands there for West Jr. Steel dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on West Jr. That did some damage! West Jr misses with a wild body shot. West Jr throws a looping overhand right but Steel ducks down to avoid it. West Jr lands a glancing blow to the side of Steel's head. Steel tries to land a front kick but West Jr steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. West Jr smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. A head kick from Steel lands but West Jr takes it in his stride.
It looks like George West Jr has been cut. Steel throws a sloppy head kick and West Jr moves out of range easily. West Jr throws the left hand but Steel avoids the punch easily. Steel fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. West Jr misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Steel.

West Jr misses the shot to the body. Butch Steel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Steel throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Steel throws a leg kick which misses West Jr's front leg but catches the back leg as West Jr tries to avoid it. Steel looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. West Jr on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. He's obviously looking to slow West Jr down. Steel cracks the inside of West Jr's front leg. West Jr is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Steel ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. West Jr connects with a good right hand that stumbles Steel. Steel circles away out of range and recomposes himself. West Jr tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

Steel slips a jab from West Jr. Steel lands with a kick to the temple. West Jr shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" West Jr is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Steel had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté. Steel tries a head kick but it misses.

Steel fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and West Jr has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Steel throws a leg kick which misses West Jr's front leg but catches the back leg as West Jr tries to avoid it. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. West Jr jabs Steel right on the nose. Steel blinks but takes it well.

Steel feints and then cracks West Jr's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow West Jr down. Steel lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Steel is looking to clinch. West Jr jabs at Steel's body. West Jr throws a shot from downtown. Steel moves away and avoids it. West Jr blocks a head kick by Steel.

You can see that West Jr has visibly slowed down as a result of the leg kicks Steel throws a head kick that half lands.
West Jr connects with a body shot that sends Steel's belly button to the back. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. West Jr crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Steel - the referee stops the clock and West Jr gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Steel. West Jr manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. West Jr misses with a wild body shot. Steel fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Steel.

Steel lets loose with a powerful body kick. West Jr will feel that in the morning. Steel is looking to clinch but West Jr is avoiding it.
Steel tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. A little jabbing left from West Jr on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

In favor of your winner, by unanimous decision... George West Jr! George West Jr decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
