Scofvanot has chosen Killing in the name as his entrance music. Greg Scofvanot will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Valeri Chadov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Novikov tries to clinch up but Scofvanot circles away and keeps his distance.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Scofvanot.
Scofvanot will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Nice takedown defense from Novikov. No joy for Scofvanot on that attempt.
Evgeni Novikov has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Greg Scofvanot.
Scofvanot looks for a takedown but Novikov sprawls well.
Greg Scofvanot seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Novikov darts in and clinches Scofvanot up against the cage.

Novikov shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Novikov was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Scofvanot is looking to improve his position but Novikov isn't that keen on the idea.

Novikov looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Novikov could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Scofvanot defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Novikov.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!

Novikov can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Scofvanot is looking to escape.

Novikov throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Scofvanot has his hands clasped together but Novikov breaks the hold and Scofvanot is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Novikov!
